Welcome to the Vaughn Family Farm and Orchard website. Feel free to look around and learn a little bit about the farm, what we grow, and who we are. Click on the pictures on the right to go to other pages. If you'd have a question or comment, email edvaughn@cdsnet.net.

Farmer Ed tries to practice environmentally friendly agriculture and grow organic produce, using 'soft' treatments to preserve beneficial insects which control other insect pests and to reserve harsher treatments for emergencies.  Most years, organic methods work when the pests levels are low, but some years there would be no salable fruit and no income without emergency measures.  Most customers don't like to find half a worm in the pear, after their first bite!

Vaughn Farm has a one acre pond (with bass) for frost control water storage, a 1/10 acre frog/turtle pond, 22 acres (9 ha.) of pear orchard, 26 (10.5 ha.) acres of grass hay (orchard/clover/timothy), 28 acres (11.3 ha.) of alfalfa hay, and 70 acres (28.3 ha.) of dry pasture (with water rights). The farm has 3 acres (1.2 ha.) of walnuts, an acre of cherries and a home orchard with apricots, plums, apples and peaches. Wild blackberries thrive throughout the farm land and U-pick fruit is available in season.
